First Wednesday in 2016

It's that time of year when we are still labeling everything as "firsts" and I am already exhausted.  I recently realized that despite my efforts to change my "day job" I was really going through the motions.  I mean I have submitted resume after resume and even though I was disappointed that nothing seemed to happen, deep down I think I'm OK with it.

To be honest, I don't want to leave my "day job" to go to another "day job".  I want to leave it and not need to work for someone else to make ends meet.  This approach is outside of the norm, but I think that my "To Do" list for the year will come in very handy as I try to position myself to write (or do more writerly things) to earn income.

So, while my current job is not ideal (and can be pretty stressful), it does pay the bills and serve as motivation for me to work towards my goals.  And if I change my perception of the situation, hopefully it will help me to improve my quality of life.
